Forex & CFD prop firms

Best forex prop firms for MT5, MT4, DXTrade and TradingView traders

Forex and CFD prop firms are attractive for traders who use EAs, gold strategies, indices, crypto CFDs or swing trading. They also require extra due diligence because broker access, US availability, payout providers and platform rules change quickly.

MT5 and EA rules are not one-size-fits-all

Many traders search for “best prop firm forex EAs” or “prop firms that allow bots.” The important distinction is whether an EA is a normal execution tool, a prohibited high-frequency/latency strategy, a martingale/grid system, or a copied strategy sold to many users. A firm can allow EAs in general while still banning strategies that exploit feeds, delay execution, hedge across accounts or mirror third-party signals.

If your strategy uses MQL5, trade copier software or multiple prop firms, ask for written confirmation and keep screenshots of the rules in force on the day you buy.

Red flags

  • No clear legal entity or address.
  • Guaranteed payout claims.
  • Hidden spread/slippage controls.
  • Only crypto payments with weak disclosure.
  • Rules that can retroactively deny payouts without objective criteria.

Forex prop firm FAQs

Are forex prop firms regulated?

Some are connected to regulated brokers, but many retail challenge firms are not themselves regulated as brokers. Read the disclosure: many accounts are simulated and payouts are performance rewards, not brokerage account withdrawals.

Which prop firms still use MT4?

MT4 availability has narrowed as firms move to MT5, DXTrade, cTrader and TradingView-connected environments. Confirm current platform access for both evaluation and funded stages.

Can US traders use forex prop firms?

Some firms accept US traders, but many CFD/forex firms restrict US residents. Futures prop firms are often a cleaner path for US-based traders who want exchange-traded markets.
